Plant Parenthood returns!

Where does the time go? To be honest, we’re not even sure when the last time you might have heard from us was. Sometime back in 2023, no doubt. We hope you’re not expecting an apology, because frankly, the world could use a little slowing down. We’ve been busy! Busy being parents, trying not to be so busy, taking care of ourselves and the folks we love. But we do love the Plant Parenthood community and the seeds that have sprouted from it, and we’re excited to be getting back in touch as spring approaches, and to share some news.

Firstly, we’ll be bringing in May with an integration circle! For those of you that might be new to the community, our online integration circle is a safe space for folks to gather, connect with other parents, share experiences, knowledge, insights, and provide gentle accountability for each other. It’s facilitated and Rebecca and Andrew, and is offered on a pay what you can basis. We’d love to see you on May 1st at 8pm ET.

Second, we’ll be doing an IRL event a week later in New York, to coincide with the Horizons Conference (which will feature a talk this year on psychedelic parenthood by PP friend and ally Glauber Loures de Assis!) We’ll be hosting a casual meetup in East Harlem not far from the New York Academy of Medicine where the conference is happening, from 6-8pm at Lexington Social on May 9th. Please come say hello! Also on the conference tip, for anyone in the Bay Area, Rebecca will be speaking at the Chacruna conference this weekend, so make sure and catch her talk if you’re around.

Speaking of IRL, we’re very excited this year to be expanding the Plant Parenthood family to support more local, in-person communities. We love that the digital world is able to keep so many folks connected—but let’s face it—the screens are also killing us (and our kids) and we need as much real world support and connection that we can get.

Aaron and Ashleigh have been hosting regular Plant Parenthood meetups in Portland since last year via the Portland Psychedelic Society, and we’ve been in touch with a number of folks who feel mission-aligned and want to host similar gatherings and events in their communities. We’ll share more on that in the weeks to come, but in the meantime if this is something that interests you, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
